This symbolic violence has been studied in details by French sociologists Eve Chiapello and Luc Boltanski in their seminal work “The new spirit of capitalism”, brilliantly reported by The New Left Review(2). Here, we might also see these groups intersecting with the elite in being bearers of what Boltanski and Chiapello identify as the 'projective' justification produced by 'New Spirits of Capitalism'.
